    Step 1

    Pull Motor

I pulled it out today, went pretty smoothly just took some time to make sure the headers stayed in good shape.

121k on it, rebuilt head, its from a 635csi, comes with headers too.

    I have a e30 m3 tranny that I will be running

If anyone saw my posts about my m90b35, I am not going to be using it now as it needs a complete rebuild. I do however plan to do that when I get the time.

    This lucky m30b35 will get,

    -VEMS management
    -535i pan and pick up
-headers (no brand name on them)
    -getrag 265 tranny
    -lightened flywheel
-old school "banana" style intake manifold (just because I have it and prefer the look)

Update 1: I picked up a 535 pan and pick up for free off my friend who swapped me for the 6 pan. The motor mounts are almost done, have only been picking away at them, I am making three sets. Right now I am looking for a front balancer that has the sensor ring on it. I held the headers in the empty engine bay and Im not to sure about the fit but we'll see later on.

the engine bay is cleaned up, I will probably respray it before dropping the motor in

picked up some goodies, akg shifter, 2.7 turn rack, oe euro grills

I have been cutting body fat off the chassis, last week I took off 112lbs. Tomorrow the sunroof will go.

rear doors cut up, I made a bracket to hold the window up

Update: I cleaned all goo left after the tar came off, also the dash is back in

FYI, the e30M3 tranny is a Getrag 280, not 265.

Also, the bananafold does not flow as well as the later B34 and B35 manifold. It was originally specced for the 2.8 and 3.0 M30 displacements.

I like those headers. GL with the swap.

I'm pretty sure the getrag 280 is the m5 tranny and the 265 is the e30 m3 one.

thats my understanding, the confusion usually comes from the fact that the m3 trannys say 262 on the side. I believe the 265 is considered stronger then the 280.

Looks good.. You're going to have to do some work to run those headers. They look a lot like my Stahl's (which also came from an e24) and to fit them I had to bash the lower corner of my firewall, cut out the isulation and push the motor pretty far back to clear the lollipop, and it just barely does by ~1/4". What mounts are you going with?

Looks like a stock getrag 260/6 attached to the motor on your picture there.

Looks like a clean power plant. Which drive shaft combo will work with the M3 tranny?

If those headers don't work out for you I'd be interested in taking them off you for the right price........
