    B35 cam lobe profiles?

Was taking apart a spare b35 head that I am going to ship for a mild head job + 284 cam.. noticed the lobes on this cam look a little funny.

I don't remember if they looked like this on my rebuilt motor or not.

So, does this look like a stock b35 cam profile or regrind of some sort? Lobes aren't symmetrical as you can see in the photo.

Off the top of my head, the B35 ones DO look "pointier" than that. Best way to tell is to measure lift (eccentric - base circle), IMO. A cheap set of digital calipers is an awesome tool to have anyway.

Yeah, I'll get some calipers from harbor freight but figured the shape of the lobe would be a give away...

Jean your going to notice a big difference with a bigger cam, it's going to wake that B35 up for sure. I noticed a big difference with the 284/280 in my B34.

I hope so, I found one dyno sheet from a guy on mye28, b35 put down over 221/234 with a 284 cam, headers and chip.

"The head was rebuilt but just to factory specs. Intake is stock. The cylinders were bored .50. its got the 1.3 motronics. super sprint exhaust. Decked the block. That's it. The motor came from an 89 740. Runs and idles suprisingly smooth with the cam."

"The chip was custom from Germany. I got it from Paul Ladue and the cam was a shrick 284 purchased on-line through Korman."

I've been trying to gather more information from the owner of the car on there to basically replicate his setup.

            If I get 220whp I'll be happy for a while I think :)

Also here is a cam profiles chart I found - http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=157371

he's got a larger cylinder bore. would that push more air/produce more power?

              220whp does sound nice though!
