supercharger?

I was wondering if anybody has ever done a supercharged m30.

Will it work?
Cost?
Other thoughts opinions?

It's been done. Very little info. It's a very attractive option considering the cost, but the hard part is making the bracket and tensioner pulley for the blower. The rest is going to be a RRFPR or better yet mega-squirt or the like.

I think it would be great because you don't have to monkey with the exhaust - and you can control the amount of boost with swapping out pulley sizes.

This would be a good thread to start collecting info? What do you think guys?

I think you guys are right. I am thinking about looking into costs for this and another advantage is that we don't have to mess with compression ratios because already the m30 is right on the money for supercharger.

I will look for some pics and some more info I'll keep the thread up dated.

· Custom crankpulley - anodized red—Automotive Specialties
· 2 blower belts
· ATI Fuel Management Unit (boost fuel pressure regulator)
· Mounting brackets
· 3" piping and flex hose, plus extra piping, hose and hose clamps
· K&N cone air filter
· Custom radiator with cool-flex hose good for 900hp. Includes electric cooling fan and t-stat
· HKS bypass valve - good for 6-12psi of boost.
· Spearco intercooler - polished.
· 36# fuel injectors –Accel
· TCD turbo chip.

The entire package cost me over $8000 to assemble and build. Save a bundle, its only $3800.
Switched to a custom built-turbo engine.
I will install the setup for you for an additional $500. Requires a full-day. Must bring your car to CT.
When installed on a Bavarian Engine Exchange performance engine (P&P, cam, header, intake) produced 300rwhp and 300rwtq at just 7psi. No turbo lag. Full boost by 3500rpm. 200ft-lbs of torque at the wheels at 2000 rpm.
Will work on a stock engine. Some adjustments will be needed (as with any setup).

Oh and here must be the end all be all m30 blower set up. You have to right click and "save as" to watch on some computers.

For those who just want a little extra power from their m30's I found that the m45 supercharger will put out around 5psi of boost which translates to around 50ish whp.
