Guys, buy Frank´s writeup!! I just started reading it and all I can say is....Impressive. Buy it before he comes to his senses and raises the price or decides to publish it, with the same end result. Not only that, USPS messed up my CD (it arrived cracked) and Frank immediately sent me a copy by e-mail. I mean, he was on top of it! Great guy who put a lot of work into his swap and into documenting it for us. Can´t recommend him enough! Thanks Frank!

    Jean,

It was a couple of things. I believe that the harness featured EML. I bought the harness after the engine, and I know it was from an auto ,but I don't know the year.

the other thing is that I wanted to make sure that all the wires from the E30 wiring went to the same overall destination before and after the sway. That way, every single thing works, including the brake sensor circuit.

    Thanks for the comments!

Frank - I never had this problem with mine, and the automatic e32/e34 m30b35 (NON EML) engine harnesses I've pulled have always had only ONE DME plug.
In fact I am using one right now until I switch manual harness for better TPS clearance with the bottom of the hood. The Auto TPS sits SLIGHTLY higher vs. Manual TPS :)

But the auto harness works just like manual, no wire bypassing of any kind. Maybe you had an EML harness?? OR it had to do with the fact that your E30 WAS an auto, not so much the M30 or it's harness.

    This is from Section 12.

    "You have 2 options here…
    1. If your E32 came from an automatic transmission car, then you might want to consider option 2. If not, then you will have to wire and bypass the automatic transmission park. My E32 came from an automatic car. I tried fervently to wire it up, then gave up and simply went to option 2. If you must, then good luck. The E32 engine that I bought has 2 plugs. I tried to take the regular ECU from the M30 engine (ECU 0 261 200 179), and put slap it on. On the C-101 plug (by the fuse box on firewall), there is a round engine plug. Take the harness from my E32 engine and plug it directly in. That should send gauge signals and ignition stuff through. All in all, it should have been a direct plug-in. Unfortunately, it wasn’t and I couldn’t figure out which wire went where. Take a look a what it looked like trying to find the automatic park:"

$10 for personal customer support? Sounds like a bargain to me! When I get bored of my s52 I might have to try an m30 swap. I will definitely get this off ya.
