    thinner headgasket to raise compression

on a 1991 M30b35 with a 284 Schrick cam - has anyone raised the compression with a) max skimming allowed on the head and/or b) a thinner headgasket?

The idea is to have a greater than 9:1 static compression ratio which would compliment the 284 cam better. Any interference problems or notching of pistons required? What was the final static #?

Anyone have anything from experience? I know on an m20b25 the standard calculation is skim 0.1mm = gain 0.1:1 in compression.

Gareth on the E30 zone has had his M30 head skimmed 1mm and used a standard h/g, no timing issues either.
