BMW engine swap woes

Hi all, I'm currently wanting to transplant a BMW M30 3.5 liter inline 6 from an '89 535 into my E30 325e. If anyone has any knowledge on what needs to be done or what i will need to do it, as well as any legal nonsense (like rego and engineering certificates) that will tie me up in NSW Australia, it would be much appreciated......i am REALLY new at this.

Not sure if having RHD makes any difference, but yes this swap has been done dozens of times and is very well documented. Use the search button. As far as regulations in Aus, I have no idea. I'd ask that question in the regional subforum.
