    big power, small price

Searched but couldn't find anything. If there's a thread already on this subject direct me too it. I'm looking into the feasability of out of the ordinary (m50 m52) engine swaps. Mainly my question is if a v8 5 series engine will fit in a e30 such as:
    http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/pts/1735980051.html
I'm also interested in swapping a chevy 350 or ford 351 as these engines are a dime a dozen and parts are cheap and readily available. I know most people will think this an abomination but I assure you there are much worse things I could be doing to my car. I appreciate all and any information and links on the subject.

    Thanks C.j.

if you don't want to keep it in the family, you can't go wrong with an ls1 swap

Keep in mind the distributor location when choosing between SBC and SBF. LS* series don't have this consideration. Also consider whether you prefer HUGE mid-range torque (SBC) or a top-end screamer (SBF w/ heads). LS* is kind of between the two & might be the best choice.

An ls1 swap would be great but that might be out of my price range. I'm looking into low priced options for more power (aren't we all) which is where a 350 shines. Another option would be to rebuild by M20 using an i head and my e block, chipped.

Turbo M30 running MS would be the cheapest. I'm raping 600rwhp cars easily with the boost turned down.
