Improvements over the previous 3.0l version include Dual Stage Vanos for the exhaust camshaft, increased compression ratio to 11.3:1, reduced valve stem thickness (and weight), and higher redline. This engine has a bore of 86.4 mm and a stroke of 91.0 mm giving a displacement of 3201 cc. It has a maximum permissible speed of 7600 +/-50 rpm, and a permissible constant speed of 7400 rpm. Power output was rated at 316 hp (DIN) @ 7400 rpm, with a torque rating of 258 ft-lbs (DIN) @ 3250 rpm.
