318 or 325 for M30 Swap

Well I picked up a 1991 318is this past weekend. Is there anyone that has done a M30b34 into late 318, is there anything to watch out for? Im scared of the wireing :)

I have done exactly this swap. If you have any questions feel free to pick my brain. A couple of tips right off the top are don't forget to wire your unloader relay (has to be wired to power on start), don't forget the C103 connector on the m30 harness (it's in the glovebox). All in all it's pretty simple, just reading wiring diagrams and matching wires.

i have a 91 318is that i pulled the motor this weekend, i have a m30 b34 with a m20 harness ready to be used, would it be a good idea to buy a m30 harness instead?
i am really uneducated when it comes to wires and electronics im looking for the most straight forward swap possible with the m30.

any advice would be much apreciated thanks.

I'm assuming you got the m20 harness for the round c101 connector. If so you'll just have to go back and start matching wires from the c101 to the various sensors on the m30. I probably can't be too much help other than that. When I did my swap I took an entire b34 harness (with relays and all) chopped it at the b34 square c101 plug and then rewired it to a round c101 that I acquired. It's really not that tough, there are only 13 or so wires and most of them are just a matter of matching colors.
