They made dogleg non-CR transmissions?

I am interested but need to know a little more about it. The 262 stamping does not mean a whole lot (Getrag 262s are actually 4-speed boxes but they used that stamping on some 265s too for some reason). How have you verified that it's dogleg, and how do you know that it's not close ratio?

did some searchin, and although it is stamped 262, it is a 265/5. it still has the dogleg shift pattern. pics coming soon, as i have to pull it out from storage.
