    M30 questions

    Have a few questions....
    1. I have a 533i flywheel w/ 260/6 tranny. Ive heard that a e28 m5, and e28 535i clutch kit will work, are there any other car clutch kits that will fit.
    2. What model car flywheel bolts should I use.
    3. Plan on redoing the valve guides on my m30's head, can someone find me a project thread detailing the breakdown and reassembly of a head.
-Thanks and sorry if this is a repost

    1. i have the same combo, went with e28 535i clutch kit.
    2. use the shorter bolts that go on the car the flywheel came from
    3. it's pretty simple, there are 4 rocker arms and they should be marked/paired as they aren't all the same.

        1: I have a G260/6 w/M5 clutch kit and 533 flywheel (same as M5) on my B35 e28. It's great.

        2:
use the shorter bolts that go on the car the flywheel came from
3:Taking the head apart is easy. Just label everything and keep eace valve w/the spring and rocker, etc it came with. I used zip-lock bags labeled #1 ex, #1 in, #2 ex, #2 in, etc....

Just get a valve spring compressor and a magnetic screwdriver (to remove the keepers) and go to town. There are 4 rods that the rockers are on. You need to CAREFULLY remove them w/out fucking them up. Easy on a straight head, not so much so on a warped head. AMHIK. It's a simple task of being careful and putting things back exactly where they came from. If you don't think you can do it, take it to a machine shop, IMO.

What do you mean by screwing up the rods? i ruined a set spinning them out of the head it made spiral scrathes... good thing i had another set.

what happends if the rockers stick to the rods when moving up and down?
