    M30>>> what flywheel to use<<<

    Hi all,
Hi to all bmw enthusiasts.. This is my first post on a forum so hopefully everyone knowlegde would be a great help..

Now to the real business.. I have just started my e30 m30b35 from a e32 engine conversion..iv come across a problem..the gearbox iv got of a e34 530 manual which i no is compatable but the person that i got the box from let me down on the flywheel..
What other flywheel can i use with this box and engine and do i buy a clutch for the box or engine
    Sorry if i sound silly..
    Thanks for the help

    dont know euro flywheels....
but the US 535i, m30b34 is about 19 lbs, you'd obviously use the clutch kit for that.
The US 533i/M5 flywheel is about 14 lbs, same clutch kit as above, they were all single mass for the m30 engines in the USA.
533/M5 flywheels usually go for around 175 shipped (US), and plain ol boring b34 flywheels around 45-75.
The lighter flywheel is the better choice in an e30, car hardly weighs anything to begin with.

          This!!

The 533 flywheel is a single mass and the best option out of all of the OEM flywheels.

Since you are using the m30b35 which does not use the flywheel sensors; you are best off using a m30 flywheel as was found on the e12 and earlier models. That flywheel is available cheaper than the m5/e28 533 flywheel and is also the lighter weight version.

Also the same as the M5 FW.

and if you have a g265 you can handle the stack height of a m5 clutch on the 533 flywheel. Conflicting reports on the g260. see mye28.com

                  G260/5 won't fit M5.

                  G260/6 will.

                  I have a G260/6 w/M5 FW/clutch.

                  G260/5 is a shitbox anyways.

The 260/5 from about 3/84 on will accept the m5 clutch. Still not the best choice in trans.
