    For those of you who have done 5spd swaps....

    Did you guys have to replace this shifter console in order to fit the boot ring from a manual in there? I wasn't sure if the opening was the same size between auto & manual

          yes it is actually.

          not that i need to explain myself, but i bought a plastic shifter ring (was told it was for an E30), and it doesn't fit.

          now does my question seem sensable?
