Which transmissions will work with the M30 that has the "sport" gearing(with the 1:1 5th gear)? Also, which cars used these other than obvious ones such as the e30 M3's and e28 M5's? Some of the 320i's used these too didn't they? If so, which ones as far as year goes?

I'm not sure about the m5 tranny, but the US e30 m3 tranny (265) didn't have a 1:1 5th gear. It has the same gearing as a 325i tranny. The euro dogleg e30 m3 tranny is close ratio and has a 1:1 5th, but you'll pay a pretty penny for one of those.
