    Here we go again...!

The time has come to 'begin' my swap. I have been collecting parts and planning for the better part of four months. The motor will be going into my 1989 325i Schwartz Coupe. The m20 is all but out and the m30 will be put together tomorrow.

    So far:

I will be running N/A (for now) on Mega Squirt II PnP system from DIYAutoTune.com. They happen to be 15mins from my house so I paid them a visit! I will be running factory ignition for now. Once I start tuning for boost, I'll go to wasted spark.

m30b34 ('86 635CSi) Rebuilt with new bearings, rings, seals and gaskets. Tapped for turbocharger oil return. (will be utilized in the future...) Schrick 284 cam

g260/6 with new in/output seals, e34 m5 Sachs clutch set and resurfaced 533i single mass flywheel. 3.25LSD (i supposedly have the right driveshaft pieces... I'll be surprised if its right!)

    b35 oil filter housing
b35 exhaust manifold (long tube headers in development!)
    300mm.de motor mounts
AKG red 'race' motor and trans mounts
    16" Flex-Lite fan
    24lbs injectors
    e28 radiator
OEM Bosch distributor cap and rotor
    OEM 71 degree thermostat
OEM timing chain, guide rails and tensioner
    OEM water pump
    OEM headbolts
    more stuff I can't remember

    Pictures start tomorrow night

Small set backs today. Turns out the crack-head that put the new rod bearings in didn't have a clue what he was doing. Everything was still dirty when it was assembled. The cam was miss timed and all six pistons contacted the valves at one time. Surprisingly, all the valves seal...

-assembly lube between the rod and bearing surface caused the motor to seize
    -new piston rings install upside-down

I ordered new rings and bearings and sent the rods/pistons to be cleaned.
