    M30 Engine: need help from the experts

    hey guys,

    Help me get back on the road, I'm almost done with the car after having it sit there for almost 3 months. The tensioner adjusting bar wore out and I'm trying to get a new one but I can't seem to find the correct one. If it makes sense, the ones I keep finding are too narrow. The one that was installed on there is narrow where it mounts to the engine and wide on the other end to fit the alternator.

    The one I found at the junkyard AND the one I ordered brand new from Blunt Tech was narrow all the way through and did not open up at one end to allow for the alternator to slide in. If anyone can find me the part number that would be awesome!! thanks R3v.

      OP - I had no problem ordering anything for my m30b35. What year is your engine?

          See the offset part on the left side of the black part? that's the narrowness I need for it to mount to the engine but I need it as wide as it is on the right side so that the alternator can mount to it. Any ideas as to what these come off of? I've been searching through realoem.com but haven't gotten lucky.

                I ran into a similar issue. I hate those shitty gear tensioners, what was BMW thinkin'? I'm using a custom turnbuckle setup for my Power steering and alternator.

                hardware similar to this:
                '08 328i Sedan -daily touring car
                '89 335i Coupe -parting out
                '01 330i Sedan -divorced
                '90 325i Coupe -smashed
