M30 from wrecked car..what should I look for??

I recently acquired a m30b35 through a very horrifying experience. The car the motor was in was totaled, the motor mounts were broke and the motor was thrown about. I pulled the motor from the car and from briefly checking it over I can see that a new tranny mount tab needs welded on, needs a new distributor cap, and the cast motor mounts are cracked. I plan on installing the motor in my e30 sometime down the road but want to make sure I don't ruin it the first time I start it up. Some info on the motor: M30b35 (year unknown, motor was swapped into my brothers 525i, head is ported and polished, cam, rockers, valve job and springs, adjustable timing gear, miller WAR chip and MAF, maybe a few other things.

    What should I look for?
Should I tear the motor down?
Should I have a professional check it out?
Is it fine how it is?

    Thanks.

    I like the last option.

Take the crank out and have it checked for crack that might have happened in the wreck.

Crank is forged. Unless the balancer and associated area is damaged I'm not sure I would go to the extent of pulling the crank if this is a budget project. If it's not a budget project, then expect some mission creep.
