    M30 Tranny

    I'm looking for a 5-speed swap for my m50 and went junkyarding this past weekend. I found a m30 swap e30 with a 5-speed in it.

    I know I should just take the whole thing but I have a m50 ready to go into my e30.


    So my question is will the tranny off the m30(getrag260 of some sort) fit on to the m50? And will the driveshaft work too?

            don't bother grabbing the whole swap, just get the motor arms and see if the shifter assembly is shortened (in which case grab that also). Everything else is not modified at all and should be purchased from a place with history... car's in the junkyard for a reason.

            But yeah, the trans won't work for an M50.

                I hated my m50tu. I love my cammed and built b34! 175/205 rwhp/tq... suck it twin cam!

                    I have a bit of a "well actually" but if the tranny is a G265 you can swap the bellhousing from the M30/M10/S14 to an M20 housing and use that but its probably not worth the effort.
