B34 if your turboing, only if your turboing.

B35 if you want N/A, or you can go turbo in the future.

B34 w/B35 head for uber low compression for turbo.

Take teh valve cover off whatever engine you look at and make sure the cam oiler banjo bolts haven't backed out. That's a problem they had, but some loctite fixes them. I check mine each time I do a valve adjustment though, just in case.

    I swapped a B35 into my B34 e28. It's a fucking blast to drive. I can just imagine a B35 in an e30.

"While you are there" parts would raise your budget quite a lot.

I will hopefully be buying Jean's m30b35 when he pulls it for his v8 swap.

He said I will need to do the rear portion of the exhaust, driveshaft, and shift arm I think I don't remember.

I will be trying to find a cheap 1987/8 four door shell or cheap running one to start putting some bucks into to get it ready.

For the exhaust (which I do not know much about) what would be a good setup for a quiet one. I tend to stay out late and a loud car is the last thing I want when I come home at 1 a.m. Maybe something that is quiet down low but throaty up top. idk I will have time to figure it out.

An easy exhaust would be b35 manifolds and down pipes connected to the rest of a b25 setup or you could run the b35 down pipes into a y-pipe with single outlet 2 1/2" to tailpipe. If you make a custom exhaust use a good resonator and a good larger rear muffler to keep it quiet.

Okay cool. I'll have to look into that more, or find someone to do an exhaust for me.

So everyone correct me if I am wrong.
Only the 1987/8 early model e30's have the big quibo driveshaft.
The early model e30 is also harder to wire compared to any 1989-1991 e30.

I really want An early model four door, but I am scared of very technical wiring because I wouldn't want to start a fire. How much harder is it really?

1987 is perfect for wiring. It has the proper ECU connection, and the fuel injector harness isn't in a plastic box, like the 1988+ cars. 1988+ will work though, just needs some finagling with the injector harness.

Sweet. Well I will do my best to find an 87. I wanted an early model anyways.
