Yes I am from the States...Georgia to be exact. I'm just stationed in Germany. The headers are definitely what initially drew me to this B34...I got a good deal on everyting and the engine has about 20k kms on a complete German rebuild...I also got a full stainless exhaust setup with a very nice D&W muffler ( it has a nice plate tack welded to the bottom that has the logo and BMW 635CSI/535i on it; don't know why but I love it) As far as the narness goes the C101 connector was wired up along with a bunch of the sensors for the three gauge pod I got for the center console...but I am trying to figure out the engine wiring before I try and tackle the sensors...

O-k, so time for an update. Despite the excellent help from Wildstoats, I gave up on my B34 harness. The PO had already modified it and I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting and fuel. I had no power to the fuel pump fuse at the fuse box and was having a very difficult time trying to trace down the wires. Since I already had all the parts I went ahead and upgraded to Motronic 1.3 I used the M20 harness and had to lengthen a number of wires to get it to work, but it is running now. I think I will go ahead and use the B35 harness though as it is just so much cleaner looking. I do have one issue with wiring/electrics still. With the M20 harness when the engine is running my temp gauge reads full hot; is it because I am still using the B34 temp sensor? From what I understand I only need to move one wire on the B35 C101 connector to make it work; is this true?

Here's a link of it running for the first time...I still need to try and get the vacuum lines connected and find a way to connect the brake booster, but at least it will move under it's own power now...and my God does it move so much faster than before...

        Congrats!

Yes the brown temp sensor (signal to the gauge) must be from an e30.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to best mount the shift plate to the chassis of the car? I kinda rigged something up but it definitely isn't and ideal set up. I tried getting the correct set up off of an E28 but the bracket is way too short...

So I finally drove the car back home from base...She's still a bit rough and I still have to do some cutting to mount the oil cooler properly but HOLY DAMN this thing is so much faster...It just pulls and pulls...The 4.10 diff makes it shoot like a rocket, though I am spinning at 3k+ at 60 MPH. I could not be pleased more with the results; the full header/exhaust setup sounds magical. I am a bit nervous driving it as there are still things to work out; it seems a bit shaky, though that is probably due to the solid engine mounts. My shifter is still not right, and noticed when I turn left it makes a noise almost like the driveshaft is hitting something...Guess I'll have to get her back on a lift...Everybody should have an M30 E30 at least once in their lives!

I totally agree with you. Just got my swap completed and it's a U.S. spec m30b34 which rates at only 180ish HP but the torque is still amazing and it picks up quick. I wonder how it would be like when it's turbo...:o

              Everyone should do this swap!

4.10 diff with a dirty m30? You're a madman! I feel like my 3.73 is too short most of the time.

Well, I'd like a 3.25 LSD but I a bit low on the car modding budget money right now since I dumped it all into my swap. I'm running the E28 5 speed. Honestly if I am giving it any bit of throttle in first it is totally useless; for a hole lunch it is better to start in second gear. I've found a couple 3.45 diffs in the junkyard but none are LSDs, so why bother? I can deal with having the 4.10 till I find a good deal on a new diff...
