Motor Swap or New Trans
Hey guys, I need a little advice.
I have the chance to buy a 325i this week that has a good engine and interior but two bad doors and a blown auto trans. I own an '86 320i euro that keeps making me paranoid that the head gasket is going and it leaks oil to the tune of about quart a week. So, which is more worth my while, to pull the motor and anything else I want from the 325i and drop it into my 320i? Or should I just put a new trans in the 325i and drive it.
It's a hard choice to make since the 325i has ABS and would be a more comfortable daily driver, but the 320i is only 2500lbs. With manual steering and a 5 speed it would be fun as hell with 30-40 more horsepower.
