To have a machine shop rebuild a b35 for you and do all the work would probably cost 5-8000. For them to disassemble, and reassemble would be close to 3000. All new parts are pricey as well. Valves are 30 each, chain rails are more then you think. main beaings 100 for set, conn rod bearings 100 for set. piston ring set is few hundred, probably $500 in gaskets. New head, main, conn rod bolts few hundred. If they find things out of spec it will obviously be more.

Where are you located. I have a b35

Why rebuild? B35s are just about bulletproof. I would spend a little extra to get a known condition engine with 100,000ish mileage, put a couple new seals in and rock it for another 100k+.

The 3 chain guides new from BMW are about £46, so under $100, i bought some a few weeks ago for my B35 rebuild.

Main bearings, shells and new piston rings, shipped from the states cam to £240 GBP so about $320

Valves can be reground and polshed clean if they are ok,
The thing to check on these is the valve guides for wear.

Full H/G set from Elring is about £80, so about $130.

It all depends if you go main dealer or not.
