    M30B35, M90 oil cooler

I'm fitting an oil cooler out of a euro 635 with an M90 to an e30 with an M30B35 in it. The M30B35 block's oil distribution block flange has two "chambers" that are separated by metal and gasket.

This is what the B35 distribution block looks like:

The smaller chamber has a threaded hole that comes in from the block, but no exit on the distribution block's side, so it's pretty much completely blocked off.

The M90 block that I have looks like this:

I don't have a picture of the flange unfortunately, and wasn't able to find one, but I'll take one tonight. Basically, the middle ridge is completely missing, so those two chambers are one, and oil can flow freely into the crankcase and then the oil pan.

Question: is it ok for those two areas to not be separated? Gasket is not an issue, both kinds are available, but I'm concerned that maybe the hole in the block is supposed to be blocked if those two chambers are not separated like they are in a standard B35 setup.

Related question, which holes are the in and out holes of the distribution block?
