    m30 wiring question...

Hey guys i'm just about done with my swap. I got a hell of a deal on a m30 from a 1987 535i..(free) I have the engine in the car and just about have all the wiring done. My question is how do i attatch the engine plug from the m30 to the one from the m20? Thanks in advance for any help...Vance

I can't help you out much there, but here is what I am doing- I am running full electrical from the m30, including ecu, etc. So I am making it essentially plug and play. I have no idea how an m20 ecu would work out, but I've heard an m30 ecu will help flow a little bit better.

the plug you are talking about is the C101, the M30 one is rectangulor and more then likely your m20 one is round(you didn't post the year e30 this was going into)

What year did the plugs change from round to square on the M30? I have only seen newer E34 M30s and they had round plugs so I was curious is that an E28 M30 thing? Fortunatly both my plugs are round so that makes thing simpler for me. :-)

If you have a 1990 535i, the plug should hook right up to the M20 plug. they both should be round plugs
