Nice! 3-Speed? Wont your rpm drop below boost threshold when running a large turbo?

I don't see how it would drop when I'm not lifting off the gas at all when shifting..?

Alright had a few hours to play today. Pulled out the old tranny and got the C4 under the car.

Old twin disc setup next to the torque converter. That pilot bearing puller tools works like a dream.

Reverse pattern shifter, awkward moment putting it in but it's needed.

Here it is strapped down to the tranny jack. Couldn't imagine installing the tranny without it.

Here's a side by side next to the 5 speed, the C4 is similar in weight.

For the moment no, I'm holding on to everything till I test the auto. I feel dirty swapping out the 5 speed out for the C4 but have to try it out.

I can't fault you for doing an AT on a drag car. In for ETs!

                      Interesting shifter!

Will you still drive this car on the street? It will be an absolute pig to drive in stop go traffic, especially with that stall converter!!

Your e30's still the ugliest on r3v :p

                      Great work dude!

No trans brake, yes will still drive it on the street. Ok, trans is in, cooler mounted.
Picked up the drive shaft today.

Trans cooler mounted were gas tank was.

Rear diff flange adapter to spicer 1310 U joint.

Ended up going with a billet trans yoke that had removable caps in order to install the driveshaft easily. It also has the beefier 1350 Ujoint. Drive shaft custom made with .083 thick, 3" tubing.

It's getting there, in the process of fabbing up the transmission mount.....
