    Anyone Using The M30 Afm

I would like to know if the m30 afm needs adjustments.. I did couple of searches but I keep getting different answers.. I would like to know if the M30 AFM ending with the 027 number is a complete p&p..will the car start up directly .. and what needs to be done.. some people talk about adjusting the disk in it..

Here are my mods so far .. tms chip, bav auto headers back exhaust, bav auto FPR and shrick 288s... My future plans is to switch the M20 MAF for the M30 AFM.. 19# inj, mark D chip, maybe CAM GEARS and also Get a custom THIN HEAD GASKET TO BUMP UP MY COMPRESSION from 10.5.1 to 11.5.1.. But before I do this I would like to know if the M30 AFM IS p&p or if it needs to be adjusted.. any info would be very helpful!!:p

Yes it does need adjustment of the spring a couple of clicks, but in a perfect world you should adjust it while dynoing with a wideband to get good results.
This is your M20 on steroids:

The 027 is plug and play. I installed mine and it ran fine with no adjustments at all. I was however, running just a tad rich from about 5500-6500rpms, but I adjusted my a/f ratio with my AFPR.

IF you swapped internals on your afm, then yeah, you might need to make adjustments.

I dyno'd after my swap, and these were the results: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=65485

I also am running 19# injectors, extrude honed intake mani (supposedly - I have reciepts from the p.o.), MarkD 93octane chip, K&N filter and the M30 AFM of course.

BTW, I can have a custom aluminum bracket made up for you for the M30 afm if you want. $25 shipped. LMK.

Mine didn't, and I understand that no, you shouldn't have to. However, it is pretty important that you tune your a/f ratio after you install those components to be sure you are not too rich or too lean.

                lol, what limp?

Next? Probably wait until I finish school (December) and begin considering a stroker, 3.0L most likely. May even look into a MM motor, just not sure right now. A cam might be do-able late summer, but not sure right now if I want to get into that yet. That would require some other things done as well, so that pushes back into the 3.0L build. I dunno.

In the meantime, I might go ahead with headers and new muffler just for kicks.

It was just funny to read. If you mean where it cut out, there was a spike, don't know what caused it, but it happens sometimes on dynos. My actual torque was more like 151 or so.

How did you get 10.5:1 in your eta? Euro pistons from a 528e? Havent seen too many people with high compression etas. Might convince me to build another 2.7 with the 731 head from a 323.
