    Best Radiator for M30 conversion

All I have a 333i that is equipped with the standard Alpina rad that sits in the aperture. Looking to upgrade intercooler so going to remove current rad and go for the 535i rad. I can see on real oem that there appears to be many different types available for the 5 series. What is the difference between them can anyone advise which one has the best core. I can see on ebay that some are listed for auto transmission some not. Just want the best core and obviously needs to be the slimline.

    cheers

the automatic ones will have some capacity be taken up by an integrated trans oil cooler. get a manual one if possible.

how much room do you have? not sure what position the alpina mounts put the motor in.

Also of potential interest, if you have enough room, you can run an e36 radiator, specifically the Z3 S54 unit which is a nice triple-core one.

Ok thanks for the heads up. Haven't seen the items in the flesh so can assume the auto ones have additional inlet/outlets where manual just has the pair. Space is at a premium, might have to either modify the mounts or drill new holes in the subframe to push it all back some more. Such a shame as the alpina rad has been modified to put the two temp sensors and also change the outlet pipe which would have been a whole heap of work where they could have just changed to the better radiator when the turbo was installed in the 80's

I managed to source an e28 Nissens one from a M535i new for £80, sure the one on here are most certainly better but had already purchased this one.
