Another driveshaft question...

trying to get my drive shaft up into place Im using a gerag 260/6 with a 87 325e driveshaft. I cant get the center bearing to push up into place and its putting a extreme amount of pressure on the guibo and the drive shaft isnt even in place. So what should I do to get it in place? Im using qbang motor mounts.

Not quite understanding your struggle. Are you putting both ends of the driveshaft into place before puting the csb up? Then loosely bolt csb, place and tighten bolts at guibo and nuts at diff, then preload csb?

It seems you need cut the drive shaft a 1" or more?

Yea it seems like the drive shaft needs to be 1 inch shorter. Red I'm doin what your dying and it isn working.

I had to cut my drive shaft at least 2.5".

Why? Everyone says that large flange drive shafts bolt right up. Which drive shaft did you use? I really don't want to shorten it that's gonna cost a lot to get cut and balanced

Same as me. :curse: I really didnt wanna have to shorten it but if you had to I'm probably going to need to since im using the same Drive shaft. do you have a pic of your drive shaft

Loosen the collar nut on the splines and let the driveshaft collapse a bit.

Its loose as a goose and the drive shaft is pushed in as far in as it can go.
