Wiring tach up

I've got franks manual but was confused by it. Ive got a three wire plug in my glove box it has a green yellow and black wire on it I'm assuming thats the tach. question is where on the harness do i tap to wire it in or did mis read that completely and you dont wire it in?

you can do the splicing in the glove box from that connector to the ecu.

white -- pin 3 black/white
black -- pin 9 black

thinking i need to do the green an black wires to pin 9,3
