    Calling M30 DME experts..

Got a big crappy idle..and runs like shit basically kind of problem on my M30B35 swapped 1990 e30 vert.

    long story short..
The donor car for the engine was a E34 1991 bmw 535i (EURO) 5-speed... BIG difference lies in 1 thing... (EML) the throttle is electronic so I converted it by buying a cable throttle body, wiring harness, ICV from a guy on R3v from his non EML E34 535i.

I used the same DME from the EML car cause its the same number for ALL 535i it seems.. " 0 261 200 179 " but now I am wondering if the Chip / DME contains code for EML to control the electronic throttlebody and thats why my idle is shit since its not controlling it..

anybody would know?? if there is a difference ..anybody have a spare 179 from non EML 535i I could buy, ??

any other ideals... maybe even an ebay chip and just switch the chips?

thanks for any help..really need this car running. Right now I got throttle body open and disconnect vacuum to FPR for it to run at all... but runs pig rich..

No idea on chip differences but seems likely there would be some difference.
I have a spare 179 ECU for sale if you need it.
    PM me for details.

I've tried lots of different 179 ECUs on my car and it never mattered what throttle sensor the donor car had. How did you wire your tps? There's like 7 wires in the auto trans tps, I cut the plug off and found three wires that matched the m20 tps plug, soldered them together and have never had a problem. Icv is clean? What vac hoses do you have connected?

Have you made a purchase from www.blunttech.com recently?

The donor car was manual and with EML so when I converted to wire throttle body I bought the wiring too.... throttle body TPS looks just like the M20 one. ICV is very clean and I tried 3 spares.. Vac hoses are all connected except the FPR one because If I plug it in the car idle dies down.. maintains 1100 rpm with FPR vac unplugged.

I have another 179 coming from a friend so I can check if its the DME..

In what way is the idle crappy? Does it hunt all over the place? Only when the engine is hot or cold? Nearly stall out at part throttle / return to idle?
