M30 swap. Csb/driveshaft troubles not lining up

I'm using my oem rear section from my "i" driveshaft and the front shaft from am e28 535.
    Large guibo off e34 535
    Csb from an e30 "i".

Why is it not lining up at the csb ?

    Is the csb backwards?

What mounts are you using? What 'position' is the engine in? It looks like it's a G260?

        It's the Getrag 260 m30 transmission.
        Using garagistic engine mounts.
I have a feeling the csb might be backwards...how can I tell if it was installed backwards?

As for 'position' I just dropped it in and put it as far back as possible...had to hammer the Trans tunnel/firewall.

That's how mine was. You should be fine once you flip it.

My center support was off just like that and I had to have a custom driveshaft made. I am using QBang mounts (M30B34 )and it is in the most forward position even though I had to bang the firewall and passenger footwell area.

Be careful not to tear the csb when you turn it around.

Flipped the csb and same issue.
Im almost wondering if it's me.
It's like the front shaft is too long insofar that I can't even get the the shaft to slide on the pin let alone have the csb match up the body holes.
It's been 3 days trying to get it on, I'm bitting the bullet and bringing the car to a shop(e30/bmw specific) and I'll let a pro have at it.

Even tho I'm using the correct parts called for, I wouldn't be surprised if I'll need to shorten the front shaft a bit to make it fit.

The only "what if" in play is that I'm using a tranny from a euro e32, which had a m30b30 engine. AFAIK that's a getrag 260 which is the same as what we'd find in a e34 m30b35...

have you recently lifted your engine?

Well no...I swaped the m20 for a m30 b35 with garagistic mounts and have it pushed back as far as possible. Still only have just a few mm of clearance between the rad and distributor cap, like everyone elses m30 swap so it seems.

I have tried dropping the tranny crossmember to gain an extra bit of clearance and that didn't even do it anyhow

I'd say the drive shaft is an inch too long.

The front part of the e28 driveshaft is the same length as the 320i (just with bigger flange), so with the engine in P3, it will be too long with the Getrag 260.

I think those who have reported it working have the engine in P2.

                              Curses.
I really don't understand the "different positions" the garagistic mounts have.

They seem to have "one position" IMO...just the holes to mount to the block, and the hole to mount on each side.

Worst come to worse, I guess I can have the shaft cut
