I'm loving all these turbo M30 builds..! Is that copper spray on the OEM HG?

M30 is power. M30 is love.

                Power steering. For now, no.
                I did use it though.
Steering was awesome and light but, with an m30 the pump sits further up so lines need to be strung tight.
REAL pain with banjo bolts so I'm seeing if I can use AN fittings and get some lines made.

YUP. Copper spray. I use copper spray on every. single. gasket. :)

Did a break-in for maybe 15 minutes oil came out dark.
Sounded great. Very smooth. No ticking, no smoking.

Here's some more pictures how I did the rings.
Stock size of left. I kept it stock size for the middle ring but I measered
a stock block and it comes out to 0.030 no 0.027. What do you think?

                  Copper spray everything.( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Ring gap on turbo motors will forever confuse me.

Wrap the downpipe and/or sleeve the wires. I didn't for a month and regretted it soon after

I actually have moroso insulators. They're silicon with fiberglass on the inside.
                      Super cool af.

So this was super ez. It was intimidating at first but it's no problem.
made the engine brand new for not allot of cash.

but THIS happened. My fault. Live and learn.
#6 didn't feel right when installing.
The piston didn't flop around like the rest it was alittle stiff on the wrist.

                      Got a replacement piston.
                      The bearing is still good.
It just took off the coating from clanking around.
Put the rings on ready to go, then I saw THIS.

idk guys what do you think? Just screw it and run it?
I have another block I can get hot tanked and pretty much just hone and switch everything over.
Use this one for a overbore at a latter juncture.
idk run it like this or what?
Really tempted but that shit is going to cause allot of blowby probably.

i got another block btw. runs great now.
still sorta breaking it in @ 700mi 10psi. pretty quick.
The cam makes it breath deep i must say.
e85 when it start to ping, probably around 13psi from what i remember on 91.

For anyone doing a sloppy style refresh do it, very EZ.

BUT be sure to keep every thing labeled and put them back exactly in the same spot/orientation.
rods/pistons/caps. same exact spot. extremely important.
                            no mixing and matching caps/rods/pistons.

i got more pictures of refresh #2 but... rip thread. ;0
