How hard is it to completly reinstall the A/C sytem

I'm looking at an '87 325is in the FS: adds that I really want, but all the Air Conditioning components have be removed for racing, and I need it as a daily driver.

How hard would it be to find those parts and reinstall them?

NO BALLS!!!! J/K, There isn't too much to the old AC systems, I pulled mine, but keep in mind those componets are heavy, but anyway, it can't be too overly difficult.

Buy a Bently manual. It should have most if not all the write up for an a/c overhaul which should cover most of what you want. For warning, it does take away from performance but is a nice luxury to have

The hard part would be if they removed the evaporator out of the dash board. You could probably go to a slavage yard and pick up most of the parts that wouldnt matter if they are used, things like a pump and stuff though you would probably want rebuilt.

I just replaced all of my A/C components, except for my lines... It's not that hard. The evaporator (which is the hardest part) only took me an hour or 2 to swap in and out. Let me know if you need any help. I'm in SD too! :)

When you remove the evaporator - does it leak freon at all? I'm going to yank mine completely and wanna know if I need to be ready for gross fluid.

Also - do any of you have a gasket that DOESNT have the holes for the A/C???
