    cleaning aluminum parts

What is the best way to clean various aluminum engine parts; oil pan, valve cover, trans, intake manifold? Since the intake is a sand casting and hence rougher surface would it better to just paint it with high temp aluminum paint?

EasyOff oven cleaner works great, just wear gloves and dont breath the fumes.
    Parts will look like new.

MEK (mehtyl ethyl ketone) would be the best thing, but its not that nice of stuff (kidney damage and carcinogenic) but it removes absolutely all of the aluminium oxides from the surface of the metal so paint will stick, also gunwash works well, but easy off is proly the easiest to get a hold.
