For the people who have done the M30 swap, which route did you take? Anyone have pictures of home made mounts?
e30.de mounts or make your own?

I have begun negotiations with Tito (www.300mm.de)to become his 1st US dealer. If he isn't interested in that, I have enquired about a group buy.
Let me know what you have in mind.

Euro shark, buy the e30.de mounts. You really don't want to have to deal with aligning the motor, trans, drive shafts, etc. It will cost you $150 to make them right and its only $250 for the e30.de mounts.
Stereo, importing them to the US in large quanties may not be the best business idea. Only 3-4 people complete this swap a year. Lets say in a good year 7-8. After his contruction costs, shipping, and marketing how much will you really make? Even building you own design and selling them isn't all that profitable.Comment

I'm considering having a few sets of mounts similar to Type II mounts made and selling them stateside. What sort of interest is there?Comment

Buy the mounts - it's a no brainer. Just getting the engine in to the right position to mock up the mounts was 5 hours. Maybe another 10 to build them - then another 5 tweeking then to get it right.
BUY THE F-ING MOUNTS....trust me...

(ps - they take FOREVER to ship - so plan on waiting...)Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?Comment

Have a look on the back of your head to see if you have a coolant pipe union coming out the back as this will cause you some extra work to get clearance enough so it doesn't bang on the bulk head.I have an old e23 735i and it seems I can use those mounts maybe just move them to the most rearward position on the motor and go with engine pos III.. and i should be able to get away with it according to 335i.de its in the motor mount section but its in german...*its good to know german mechanics to translate shit for you

I'm not sure when they stopped using this pipe so it's worth checking ?
