Can someone help diagnose my cars hickups?

It seems lately when I fire up the E30 and pull it out of the garage the first really hard throttle input I give it results in the car reving then suddenly it cuts out and the check engine light comes on momentarily and then the car goes right back to reving. It is like a big hickup in the spark system or something. I have checked the battery conections the grounds and have replaced my old 153 with a 173 but it still hickups occasionally any input is appreciated.

Would the Fuel Pressure Regulator Cause such a sudden total lack of power feeling?

I cleaned the ICV and the engine idles a bit rough and comes down from revs with a small rpm stumble.

Have you tried pulling the code yet?

Use the gas pedal trick and see if you can pull the CEL code.

This happens to me as well (or something similar anyhow). Do all the gauges seem to turn off for a split second when you lose all power?

Havent noticed if the gauges go but I will drive it again tomorrow.

I will have to look up the gas pedal trick to find out how to get the cell code.

I would get the code first and go from there before you spend any money.

                        Will

Did you use the stomp method or the Peake research tool?

Better yet where are you located? Is any one near you?
