    need help to identify this wire *pics*

    this is on an 88-89 'i' harness.. near the passenger firewall.. same group of wiring that goes to the coil (green&black).. from the way its routed, i'm thinking that it may belong to the coil.. i don't want to be wrong -- can u look under you hood and let me know --pics appreciated !! thanks

    Dude that is wat out of place. That should run down by the block. They gound on the starter or the alternator I think. Pretty sure it goes to the alternator.

      no the harness is unmodified. the other cables for starter & altrernator have already been identified -- this is on the group that 'naturally' heads to the coil..

        Ok yeah your right. At first glance I thought that was the diagnostic plug. Its the o2 sensor plug though right? Those are definetley just grounds though. They ground to a stud on the inside of the wheel well. If you can't find the stud you might be able to just ground them under one of the shock mount bolts, any good chassis ground will do though.

        You probably won't have a grounding stud there since this is going into an 87 right? Just find a good spot to ground it to.

            yes -- i've found out that its the ground-- to be connected to the white nut on the shock tower ..
