First I want to introduce my self. I am Mech Eng that loves Solo 1 and autocross. I bougth the car 8 months ago. I used to drive a WRX and decide to go with something cheaper ( 18 inch tires are expensive) to develop my driving . Also I always wanted an E30.
So back to the E30. I rebuild the engine of the car and install a 284 cam. It has new fuel pump, oil pump, bearing, timing belt , belt tensioner and, spark plug with wires ( including impulse wire). Lot more done to brakes and suspension but that is working just fine. Also replace the AFM with a remanufactured one from cardome industries.
The car is running very rough at idle. The idle is around 700 rpms. The engine shakes and sounds like it want to stall. I checked the plugs and three of them are suspicious (very black with fuel deposits on them) so I will change the plugs over the weekend. I checked the coolant temp sensor and it has 337ohms at 165F so that is about right. I cleaned the ICV but I am not suspicious of it since the idle does not wonders around it is just bad a low rpms. Cel light is flahing but have not pull the code. Yestesday I started the car and it sounded like a rotary engine up to 3000 rpms ( big misfire even at high rpms ) so I guess the plugs are fouled.
Also checked the injector plug but moving it does not affects the idle. There is no corrosion on it!
Any other ideas!!
