N43/N45 Swap

Not sure now much beating I'll take for this but I tried to look and found nothing..
Got offered a 2005 116i. Haven't even seen it but wondering if it could even be swapped into an E30, without custom engine mounts or subframe/oil pan mods?
Wiring is fine, tunnel or firewall mods is cool.

I guess the question will be is the improvement in economy worth it for the amount of effort (clearly we're not talking power here!) An M42 would offer a much simpler option for a similar result.

Interesting that the N45 has VANOS rather than the Valvetronic system, so it might be simpler than some of the other late engines?

Personally, if I was going to go that path, I'd swap in a modern diesel for the torque + economy :)
