    Is there a difference between the s38 block and an M30 block?

    search it up dude. There are tons of articles about it . but i believe there is a difference yes.

      If you read The 6 Series Enthusiast Companion, there are basically no differences between the early M90 (M30 93.355mm bore) block and the M88/3 blocks from which the S38 evolved. The differences are truly minor... The bores are the same size, and from what i recall, the cranks are the same... All forged.

        similar, but different...
        I dont know the exact differences. the M90 is much closer than the M30 iirc

            The blocks are different, I have them sitting next to each other outside. From what I remember, bore is slightly larger on the S38 (by 1mm IIRC), and there are differences in block casting and oil/coolant passages.
