Don't bother with it. Yes it's cheap, but they have bad trannies and shitty aftermarket support.

can you think of any other transmissions that work with this engine. this is under a thousand for then engine an tranny. and thats much less than any m5x or s5x swap i've looked into.

because the rb25 is a pretty big six. rb20 should fit with relative ease. 'least i hope so. plus the 20 is a lot less :)

is the RB25 a 2.5L engine and the RB20 a 2.0L engine? what are the advantages?

I just don't see how swapping a non-bmw motor into a bmw is appealing at all.

i'd just go with the 2 liter for size, i dont wanna deal with a lot of head aches.

and the only reason im looking into other engines other than bmw engines is because i can find these for a lot less. cost is an issue right now.

unless you have a source where i can get an m90, m50 or s50 for under a thousand? :)

if u want to go with a 2.0L, go for the SR20DET. I would think that is more feasable with more aftermarket support.

The neat thing with an rb20 is if your doing the swap on the cheap,The rb20 tends to still run well on less the perfect tuning. Wheres the Sr20s and rb25s need an almost perfect tune to run well.

                            Custom motor mounts/tranny mounts
                            shorten ds...
                            mod brake booster
and u may have to bang the firewall abit to fit the tranny and cut the tranny tunnel as JAM's freind has done.

Go SR...cheaper...and more room to work with.
After My m50 swap...Im gottin to get a 318 and slap a SR in the baby.
i shouldnt have sold my 240sx..:(

thats true about it having more after market support. but theres a lot of complaint about the powerband. i dont think i'd do too much to the engine anyways besides MAYBE upgrade the turbo to a larger unit. and a fmic.

how much would all that cost, and how much would the sr20 be? im on a budget right now.

what kinda 240 did you have? :)
