Ok, decided to make a write up/photo log on this frankenstein.

Yes, it's a kangaroo spec e30. Hate those fkn big rodents.

It was originally just going to get a 731 head with a bit of work thrown in. I decided i wanted some real grunt though.

A 1uz-fe was once destined for this engine bay, but i opted for a real v8 instead.

Ok now the cool bits!

The ls1 and t56 came from a written off commodore (it's an aussie thing..) Bit of damage to the gearbox, hopefully wont destory the bank account to fix!




The gearbox awaiting it's new tailhousing.
Since the last one looked like this, i thought it miiiiiiight be a good idea to replace it.


That's basically it so far, i've put the motor in to see how it fits but didnt get any pics :(

Definately tracking it. But I am already planning the next incarnation. I really want to drop in a S62/6 speed but cant seem to find one for sale in Australia that doesnt come with the rest of the car. Can have one landed here with gearbox for around 15k AUD from .de. So the next best thing will be an LSx/T56 combo.

15k buys a lot of L98 and Tremec.

For 5k more you could have an LS7 - dry sump, titanium bits that go up and down, 500hp and the cred of having a 427ci E30. Imagine how well that'll go down at the Broadie or with the other M1 300 members...

I think the real question becomes why spend $20,000 on an engine for an e30. I mean I love these little cars as well but $20,000 will go a long way in the car department. If I was going to go through the expense of building up an engine like that I would rather put it in an Ultima GTR thank you very much!
