    M30 bottom end question

Which bottom end is better? B34 or B35? I have a B35 right now, so if there is a combo i could use to make good power, I would like to know, as I know that the B35 head is the "desirable" high flow version.

    Keep it slideways!!

Both bottom ands are about even in terms of quality, both have forged cranks and super strong rods, both have incredibly tough iron blocks. The B35 bottom end with a B35 head will make 10:1 compression, but a B34 bottom end will make less than the stock 8:1 compression due to the B35 head's larger combustion chambers. If you have a B35, you are already doing way better than you would be with a B34. A chip, headers, and cam will make a very nice difference though!

I'll be damned, they do have 9:1 compression according to the internetz.

So my M90B35 has 9.3:1 compression, and my soon to be M30B34 Euro will have 10:1 according to the BMW 6 Series Enthusiast's Companion. Funny thing though, it says that the US spec M30B34s ran 8.8:1 compression instead of the 8:1 like everyone else says. Typo?
