The N/A part is just a personal preference I have. I know turbo is THE way to go with M30s, but the M30 is a descendent of the M88, one of the great N/A engines of its time back in the day, so I figured it would be cool to have a high-revving N/A monster run with stage 1 turbo cars :)
And thanks for all the feedback so far guys, both FI and N/A. Info is good, in all its forms :D

I have the stage I TCD kit in my car, as most of you know. I am nothing shy of completely satisfied with this kit. and is completely bolt on for $3800. Give it 7.5psi non intercooled with factory internals and you'd hit 300rwhp.
why not that? I know the title of the thread is "N/A M30", but why is it not an option for you?

why no tcd s1 non intercooled kit???? is it not a very reliable kit??? wouldnt that be cheaper??? or do you not like turbo setups??? if not totally cool..just wondering the reasoning?

Sarcasm: Thanks Jay, very helpful.
Non-sarcasm: Thanks Euroshark, I had a 299 cam and 11:1 compression in mind, so I suppose with a little luck and a lot of tuning I could touch 300hp.

You CAN hit 300hp on an M30, but it's a lot of work. Everything you listed is good, and it may get you close. You are probably going to need in the region of 11:1 compression and a 290+ cam though. I've only seen two NA M30s Ive seen making over 300hp (street cars mind you). One was an M90 that was bored to 94mm and given an S38 crank to make it a little over 3.6 liters, had 11:1 compression, a 304 Gr.A cam, and triple Webers. It made around 330hp, the other one was a 3.5 with unknown specs and big ITBs.

What does it take to get an N/A M30 to 300hp?
Pretty much the thread title...
I was thinking wild cam, piggyback, headers, raised compression, adjustable cam gear, and perhaps a MAF swap.
Anybody think that'd be enough for 300hp at the crank? And if not, what else do you think may be required?Tags: None
