Mark D chip, 6.5k cheap and does the job, would reccomend, although i probably would have gone with the 6.8 if given another chance to buy one.

I may have found an answer to my turbo plans.

Well the m20 actually has a slightly bigger cam
then the b35. So I'm guessing you can go alittle "bigger" then stock without
    having to idle at 1k.

Paul Burke is very trusted over on e28 for making m30 cams.
Cheap too! All from blanks, no regrind crap.

This guy maxed out a gt35 and t67 before 11psi on a stock head with a
    custom cam. Insane.

I have 0 cam experience btw.

I would love to know as well, if we could find the original poster of that dyno sheet?

George Graves where are you ? LOL

Wow, nice gains from a cam and header! Motivates me to go ahead with these mods as I was contemplating doing these 2 as well. What's the idle like and how does the car "feel " different?

so who can burn custom chips based on performance? Like dyno tune, perhaps.

Why not get the War chip from Miller?

    Check your PM's, Jean.

Might be a dumb answer, but try giving MarkD an email about
mods and what he thinks about adding some.

    There's a B35 w/ a cam and headers. Didn't say anything about a chip though.
    AFR looks really good.

    dyno post. Mostly b34s.

Ok to bring this thread back up for more discussion.

What are you guys running, tried etc?

Some say Jim C, some say Dinan and some Mark D..

I would like to know more on how each one of these compares?

Euroshark posted his info on his dinan chip here

"Dinan claims 232hp at the peak with their chip. I have not dyno verified this but my Dinan chipped B35 pulls considerably better than my old high compression B34... Especially over 5500rpm. Same transmission and gearing. Can't wait for headers and cam. "

Joe also likes his ebay chip (any more info on this chip?) "I used an ebay chip in mine and there was a huge difference in comparison to stock. "

I would love to know what difference it actually made.

In another thread, Jonsku mentions tuned m30 engines in the range of 250-260 hp

Small discussion here as well http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...highlight=chip

So basically let's talk more about different proven options we have for tuning late model m30 engines for more power :)

    My specific questions:
Would getting any one of those chips be a waste of money if the cam is stock? The way that I understand it is that the chip needs to be tuned for ALL the components on any given engine, in order for all of it to work together. So, getting a chip and installing it in otherwise stock engine would not provide any significant gains (other than higher redline for example), and may even do more trouble if it's tuned for mods that you don't have ... may result in the engine running too rich or lean. No?

Next question. I would like to know how much work is needed to get proven 250hp out of this engine. Would a good chip + cam be enough?
Any input on these cams here - http://www.integralcams.com/bmw.htm

I just got a 97 Mustang GT mani w/ injectors for free. They look really thin though. Anyone know what they could be? They look to be yellow.

don't touch the Euro headers... I would stick to some quality M30 aftermarket headers...
