    feeler-lightweight pulleys group buy??

ok so i have the opportunity to mayke a set of billet aluminum pulleys for our m30s....

i need 10 people including myself who are intrerested enough to make this happen!

the weight of them will all be at least half the weight the originals are now....the alternator pulley will probably be 1/4 to 1/5 the weight and the crankshaft pulley prob a 1/3! a sexy look to finish off the front of your motor and probably more power to the wheels or just a bit quiker revs. hense the less centrifical force your motor has to run the less robbed hp.

i can get this kit to you 300 shipped to your door.....any takers??

So did you ever make the pulleys? I'm curious to see if this was an improvement. Any pics

I was looking at the Ireland Engineering over-sized pulley for the alternator any opinions on that?

any alternator pulley does nothing at all to power delivery.
the alternator just works that way,

i dont know too much about machining but couldnt you ,in theory , take the stock pullys and laithe them where the centers are thick to make them lighter or even cut out sections in the centers where they are not bolted in
                    Getting there

Honestly guys, no disrespect to anyone, but lightweight pulleys are not going to be worth the money on any M30 imo. You'd get much more of a difference running a lightweight alu flywheel, or even a stock early 533i flywheel. Heck, my machine shop guy will shave like 8lbs off of the stock flywheel for $75!

I was looking at pulleys as it seems to be a simple bolt on, and I heard from a Mustang guy who went on about under-drive pulleys.... I found out that we cannot have under-drive pulleys as they are so close to each other so a light pulley would be the only thing. Also someone mentioned that the power you gain is only at top speed??? I think it's at take off that you save power?? Anyone research this before??

I'll believe it when I see it on dyno.

Make serpentine conversion pulleys and I'll be interested.
