    future thoughts

when i get a older in life, i want a bad ass e30. a couple of my first thoughts where v12 then a turbo v12 but i have changed my mind yet again. i was wondering if any knows if you can fit a S85B50 from a e60/63 into a e30 and fit under the hood 2 twin screw superchargers.

cliff notes version: can a s85 with 2 twin screw super chargers fit into an e30's engines bay.

Insane, and probably will be a pain to work on.

I vote for e39 m5 engine, 400hp NA with power/torque on tap w/o any lag in a light e30 is more than enough , and it sounds sooo good!

      good luck lol

You don't need a fancy V8 or V12 to have a bad ass E30, all you need is one of BMW fine 6 cylinders with some nice stuff done to it, either NA or turbo. E30s are small cars with shortish wheel bases and they don't need 400hp to be fast!

Have fun cutting the strut towers and firewall out...and paying a lot to do anything to it. How could anyone know? Pretty certain it hasn't been done before... seriously just go LSX...lighter, cheaper, smaller, and a lot more power (and potential)...

if you want a fast e30 that is still controllable as a daily driver you might wanna go either m30 turbo or s50 supercharged...sure the v10 may fit but it would have to fit pretty much the entire drivetrain in..*engine/trans/ and diff b/c they all talk to each other. Don't know what you'd do about the suspension b/c that talks to the drivetrain aswell....Most of your pain would of course come from the electronics. IMO anything newer than say a N54 just isnt worth it. You can make the e30 faster alot cheaper than going w something for a new Bm

Have you even thought of weight distribution by putting a V12 in the front end of that car? it would hardly be drivable in a turn.

Not worth the money. I have a turbo M30 in my car. 3.5L big six, i have plenty of power and then some. Like euroshark said, you don't need 400hp to be fast in an E30. They are light cars inherently.

If you're putting at least 300 hp to the wheels, you've really achieved a fast-ass E30

I know Hartge crammed the V10 in to an e90, but it would be one hell of a job to fit it in to an e30. I vote for an e46 M3 engine with one of the AA superchargers. That combo will make like 450 at the crank and weigh much less than the V10, in fact it would probably weigh as much as, or even less than, an m30.

The above is a good idea. An S54 was already put into an e30 so it can be done.
