His friend said that the guy had all of the DSM and Evo parts and decided it was easy power, and the M10 would be to easy of a swap. This makes me want to punch a baby

Sounds like a pain in the ass, but I like the idea. I have always liked that motor. But for all of the work involved he should have put a full Evo drivetrain under it and made it all wheel drive.

But I still dont think of it as an E30 anymore really. Just an empty shell of it's former self. Oh well..

Dentsport / bimmubishi did it years ago.

So what if it's not a BMW...
When BMW makes a powerful AWD tubo sedan that can be easily modified to make tons more power and cost less than 30k, I'll start saying that BMW is the best.

Just because it's BMW doesn't mean it's the best. Besides, what is a car anyway? It's just a hunk of steel with a logo stamped on it. Who cares if it's not "really an e30" anymore.

                  This car rocks.

And yes, Bimmubishi did it years ago.
I was a big fan of the sr20det swap.

4G63 Mitsy motors are bloody great motors! they can be tuned for MASSIVE power for not big bucks. The evo seen here in NZ is big and the engines are very highly thought of.
I thinks its a great conversion and totally different to what we are used to here on R3V ,
Now ive always been a HUGE fan of BMWs so dont get me wrong but i think we should open our eyes a little wider and appreciate that there is life outside BMWs, And combinations of to different brands can make very special and quick cars.
Like here in NZ its not easy or cheap to turbo our RHD e30s so we look for other options.
We have bucket loads of bigpower jap engines that are cheap to modifiy and we all no the ins and outs of them so it makes sence for us to use them instead.
Lets be real here guys, we all have different tastes and different incomes to !

                          Hope that made sence

big power or not I like my engine bay "filled" w a nice size motor.not some puny 4cyclinder w a turbo.. yea weight can sometimes be a factor but the s50 actually weighs a lil more than the
m30 and we all know what m30/s50 powered e30s can do....the only non bmw motorswap thats cool is the ls1/2 swap...thats mainly b/c you can put a 350cu in just about anything and make it stupid fast.
