    M30 Twin TB mod

I've posted this twin 60mm TB up before but i've actually got around to fitting it, to early to say if i've got much gains as the ECU needs mapping properly.

I've adjusted the fueling too get it drivable and to make sure i'm getting safe AFR's on WOT.

Sorry, not the best picy and please excuse the temporary cable ties.

Any more pics or info on your mod? Did you use two individual M20 TB's instead?

The TB is from a Ford V8(Mustang ?) which i picked up second hand from ebay.

A couple more pics should explain it.

One hole radiused, one to do.

In the one below you can see the old throttle cable bracket mount on the manifold, as i didn't need it any more i chopped it off which kind of lead me on to de-seam the rest of the manifold.

I was going to use a stock M30 air box but it wouldn't fit so i ended up using the CDA.

The black elbow inbetween the TB and air box is home made out of glass fiber, i made a model out of clay then laid the G/F on top.

I'm hoping for some more power and that it will compliment my existing mods(cam/head work/etc).

I wish they were my welds but they're not, a local engineering firm did it for me.

Thanks. The pictures help greatly. Are you running megasquirt? Also are you using the stock idle control or are you simply cracking the dual tb's slightly open?

De-seamed the manifold looks great, I am paranoid about putting a hole in it or creating an extremely thin spot.

                    Nicely done.

Which hose are you looking at ? The top rad hose is only about three years old.

It's probobly going to be mapped next month subject how my funds go, in the mean time i might be able to see if there's any gains this Sunday as i'm going to the BMW meet at Santa Pod drag strip. Might be a little dificult to quantify any time difference to last year as i'm now running a 3.46 (V's 3.64 of last year) diff.

It should be a good fun day, plenty of E30's and other BMWs, a friend of mine is taking his E30 335 turbo down the strip for the first time, i'm expecting a cracking time if he can get a good start as it flys on the road and he's only running 7-8psi.

Looks like the upper rad hose is starting to bulge...?

It's just a very tight fit on the radiator stub making it bulge out there

                              wow

looks like a cool mod. It would definitely be a good low end response boost. But how much is the real question.
