Picked up my m30 today at Gary's Auto shop...crazy guy, but love the new engine!!


I spent the day with peerless (from e30tech) disassembling it and getting it ready for a bath.

Pointless thread without pics...i know but didn't have my camera with me. I will take some the next time I am there...paint will be applied and all new gaskets and such.

Anyone have a favorite engine paint and cleaner?

Purple Power degreaser works great, and pretty much any engine paint at the auto parts store is good... I paint my motors black :pimp:

Finally some type of update...

I've painted the valve cover, almost complete.
-265 tranny coming
-e28 535 radiator
-735 afm
-m30 mounts
-rebuilding the head this week
-honing the block
-reconditioned pistons and rods
-ordering all new engine parts
-bearings, timing, gaskets, etc. etc.

No pics as of right now, I've been busy with school, but they will be up soon.

Thanks. Being out of town for Thanksgiving is really putting a hold on getting this together. I will have pics up as soon as I can...this is quite an uneventful thread.
